In spring, the best panel tilt usually ends up being a little steeper than what people use in summer, because the sun is still lower in the sky than it will be in June and July. If your goal is to squeeze out better daily charging results on a solar generator, a good starting point is to set the panels around your latitude angle, or a bit steeper than that. For many locations, that means roughly 10 to 15 degrees steeper than a summer setup. For example, if your summer tilt is around 25 degrees, spring often performs better somewhere in the 35 to 45 degree range, depending on where you live.
That said, there is no single perfect angle for every spring day. Early spring usually benefits from a steeper tilt because the sun stays lower and the light comes in at a shallower angle. Later in spring, you can flatten the panels a little and still get strong output, especially if you want better performance around midday. If you are charging a solar generator and want a practical rule instead of constant adjustments, set the panels close to your local latitude and adjust from there. That gives a solid balance between morning, noon, and afternoon production.
If you want the best charging results, think about more than just the angle. Avoid shade from fences, trees, roof edges, or even a nearby antenna, because a little shadow can hurt output more than a small tilt mistake. Clean panels also matter, especially in spring when pollen, dust, and rain spots can build up. If your controller or generator shows input wattage, use that as your guide. Change the tilt by 5 degrees at a time and compare the actual wattage at the same time of day under similar conditions. That gives you a much better answer than guessing.
For fixed panels, I would usually recommend a spring tilt that is steeper than summer by about 10 degrees as a starting point. If you can adjust once or twice during the season, even better. Early spring, go steeper. As the season warms up and the sun gets higher, reduce the tilt a bit. If you share your latitude, panel size, and whether the setup is fixed or adjustable, people can usually give a much tighter recommendation.
